Adeel’s story, “My dream? Becoming a doctor.”

by | Jan 7, 2025

Adeel was born in a rural village in Pakistan. He is a boy of talent and determination who today can look to the future with hope thanks in part to AFN’s distance support.

The father is an elementary school teacher, a respected figure but with a salary that is barely enough to cover the family’s needs. The mother, is a homemaker with a big heart. Despite economic difficulties, she has always found ways to help those in need in the village, as she learned through shared life in the project.

Adeel and his brother attended school until the age of ten, and thanks in part to the distance support project, they received crucial aid for books and school expenses, enabling the two brothers to continue their studies.

After completing middle school in his village, Adeel moved to a nearby village to attend high school. Every day, he woke up early to travel several kilometers to the school where he excelled. His dream? Becoming a doctor.

After college, he prepared for the difficult MDCAT (Medical and Dental College Admission Test). The first time he failed to get the grades he needed to enter medical college. But instead of becoming discouraged, Adeel found new strength in that failure.

“I told myself I had to make it,” Adeel recounts. For a whole year he studied with commitment and dedication, and this time he exceeded all expectations, getting 189 out of 200 grades. An achievement that makes him almost certain to be admitted to medical college.

“I am very grateful to God who always gave me the strength to go forward in all circumstances and meet people who believed in me and allowed me to come this far. I would like to become a doctor to treat human beings and serve humanity,” he says with hopeful eyes.

Today, thanks to the support he received from the SAD project, Adeel is an example of how education can transform a life.

We wish Adeel all the best for his future. May he achieve his goals and become a doctor capable of bringing hope and healing to those in need.
