Nel periodo seguente al terremoto di Haiti la comunità locale dei Focolari ha avviato la costruzione di un CENTRO ABITATIVO a Mont- Organisè.Con l’aiuto della comunità dei Focolari di tutto il mondo, essaè attualmente in corso d’opera.Sono stati assunti lavoratori locali e costruiti 20 LOCALI, UN POZZO, UNA CUCINA e ALTRI SERVIZI necessari. Per il completamento del progetto tuttavia sono necessari altri fondi. Finoraè stata raccolta circa metà della somma.Ci sono inoltre altri DUE PROGETTI in considerazione:Il primo riguarda la possibilità di garantire l’equivalente di due anni di ALIMENTAZIONE ai terremotati che abiteranno il centro abitativo. Appezzamenti di terreno sono già utilizzabili per le coltivazioni alimentari, ma naturalmente ci vorrà tempo perchè il raccolto possa provvedere al sostentamento delle persone.Il secondo obiettivo mira a fornire delle BORSE DI STUDIO universitarie per i giovani della comunità . Quest’ultimo progetto sarà a più lungo termine (4 o 5 anni). With the help of the worldwide Focolare community, construction is now under way.Local workers have been hired, and 20 rooms, a well, a kitchen, and other necessary facilities are being built. In order for the project to be completed, though, more funds are needed. About half of this amount has been raised so far.There are two further projects under consideration. The firstinvolves guaranteeing two years’ worth of food to the refugees who will occupy the housing center. Plots of land are already available for food-growing, but of course it will take time for the crops to become sustaining.The second aims at providing university scholarships for the community’s young people. This latter project will be more long term (4-5 years).
